The word ecoticon come from an amalgamation of two words: Emotion and Icon. Emoticons are symbols or combinations of symbols used to show an emotion within written text or messages.
In many internet forums, guestbooks, online games and instant messengers emoticons are typed as keyboard characters by users to purvey how they are feeling about a particular subject. Most of these characters will convert to an image emoticon often called smilies or smileys.The basic smiley consists of a cartoon graphic of yellow face with a smile. This has evolved over many years of use far beyond expressions of emotion including crying, frowns, angry, love: with many more emoticons and smilies available to download performing a vast array of actions.
